Thinking Activities, Centers Through the Year, tells you everything you need to create a wide variety of activity centers that build critical thinking skills. 36 centers cover 9 activities for each season. Activities include math concepts, science concepts, and language topics. As students complete the tasks in each center, some of the skills they will practice are: Critical Thinking-sorting, classifying, ordering, observing, comparing and contrasting Logical Thinking-generalizing, patterning, estimating, predicting, and deductive reasoning Creative Thinking-fluency, divergent thinking, and mental imgery Centers can be set up as a series of individual activities done over a period of time during an appropriate season or, as a one-day "carnival," where students spend two to four hours touring several season-related centers.
