This book, 'Buddhist Ethics of Pancasila' is based on the cluster of five initial precepts out of the larger corpus of sila in Buddhism and is specifically called the pancasila (the five precepts). This book has been started by giving preliminary observations on Buddhist ethics of Pancasila. This includes explanations on Pancasila and its extra-religious character, Pancasila and its universal relevance, genesis of Pancasila, men and women and their moral considerations, Pancasila in its Buddhist setting, intoxicants : health hazards and erratic behavior, Religious counsel and social change, social justice and human rights, a clearer vision of the Cosmic set up, sex, freedom and social propriety, Pancasila; a philosophy and a religion as a way of living. The author has been endeavored in this essay to show that the responsibility for the propagation of pancasila and benefiting by it is essentially a human consideration.
