The new Patch’s Pirate Pals Series is sailing off with the first book, Bluebird’s New Ship. Patch’s pals are Jeremy and Rachel. They are brother and sister who love to play pirates. The books follow their ‘real’ lives, as well as when they become Captains Bluebird and Redhair, and that is where the adventures begin.

It was the holidays and raining! Jeremy decides to play pirates with Patch, his dog. He makes a pirate ship out of boxes, brooms and a sheet. However, building a pirate ship is tiring work, and he soon curls up with Patch and falls asleep.

Once asleep, Jeremy becomes Captain Bluebeard. However, how can Captain Bluebird be a pirate captain without a ship?
Captain Redhair comes to the rescue with a new ship. Or does she?
Selling a dud ship leaves Captain Bluebird unhappy and planning his revenge.
